All round exceptional customer service!
The staff at the Royal Heights Resort make this place truly 5 star and beyond. Athina at reception is not only efficient but went above and beyond. I was so well looked after by Athina she gave me her number and told me to contact her if I needed even out of hours. Not only that she ensured I was safe and checked in on me when I was out and offered to book taxis knowing I was a solo traveler (my first solo trip). She was so kind and caring and I could not fault her service she really is one of a kind. I’ve never experienced such customer service and I’ve travelled a lot. George Elena and Giannis at the bar and both the chefs (can’t spell their names) at the bar and breakfast time kept me entertained each morning and evening with drinks Gianni’s cocktails are the best I've tasted. Exceptional service from all. I couldn't have asked or expected more. Honestly this is the place to stay in Crete. People are warm friendly and go above and beyond. Love, love love the place and the people. Hotel has all the facilities you would need and the views are just beautiful from anywhere within the grounds. I booked a Swedish massage from Lydia and it was the most relaxing experience and well worth doing. I extended it to an hour and l'm so glad I did. Thank you to the team you made my solo trip and I never felt alone :-)

We just wanna come back:)
Royal Heights resort is placed up in the hills with a perfect view over the village Malia. The staff is very friendly and helpful and you feel always welcome. The sunsets seen from the dinner table in the evening is breathtaking and if you are up for romance it’s a perfect setting. Me and my girlfriend appreciated the walks to the village in the morning and for tired legs in the evening it was easy to take a taxi back. Royal Heights resort has a nice and tasty dinner menu with lots to choose from. For lazy days the swimming pool area is perfect and you can order drinks and small dishes. We already miss the wonderful atmosphere the resort provides and the beautiful staff that makes you wanna come back:)

Top Notch - Again !!
Have just returned from 2 weeks at RHR on a half board basis and it's as good as ever with a number of notable improvements in a resort that was already outstanding (this was our 5th visit as a family in 8 years which says a lot about the quality and experience).
First thing to mention are the staff who are friendly, well trained and professional in all that they do - they take real care to ensure your stay is a great one. Every person who works there would greet you with a 'calimera' or 'kalispera' - those little touches make a real difference. What I especially liked were the requests for feedback from the management team during our stay whenever they saw us passing by in reception - We didn't have anything that needed to be addressed but felt assured that if we did that it would be promptly resolved.
The food is simply stunning, real quality and variety on the menu that caters for every taste (a wide variety for vegan/vegetarians) - I challenge anyone to not enjoy the food here, the portions are generous to say the least, if you are brave enough take on the Country Chop which was awesome!!
The rooms have superb air conditioning which in 35 degree heat was a blessing. The Wifi is good enough to conduct a Teams call on via laptop, on testing we were getting 56MB which I thought was impressive. Since our last visit the beds have had new mattress toppers added which makes for a good sleep.
The views as other reviews have mentioned are stunning along the coast, out to sea and across the mountain ranges and as you would expect the pools are well maintained and very clean
I really can't speak highly enough of this gem and look forward to returning for a 6th time.
